Since retiring from competitive CrossFit, the Fittest Man on Earth® Mat Fraser lifestyle has gained five times more spice. Gone are the days of waking up to train, eat, sleep, and repeat. These days Fraser has a podcast with Josh Bridges and CrossFit Games veteran Sevan Matossian, programmed his Hard Work Training (HWPO), wrote a book with Spenser Mestel, and has a bonus line called Podium with the Buttery Bros, Heber Canon and Marston Sawyers, which It rolled out to GNC stores nationwide in September 2021.
Despite the busy schedule, Fraser still gets up at the crack of dawn to do moves in his new home gym. However, instead of cutting out a variety of CrossFit WODs, the five-time CrossFit Games champion and his crew decided to train like bodybuilders. Check out the video below, courtesy of Fraser’s YouTube channel, where he and his team broke out a massive arm in the gym to add some volume and density to their arms, shoulders, and back.

Train like a butter champ
The day started at 6am, held a whiteboard, and listed all the movements on the training session agenda. Movements included:
Fraser announced that he was dealing with some crank issues and was going to give up the hammer curls, but the pump went off hot with cable curls as Fraser’s blood vessels filled the cam frame. He was called up as Kai Greene and Olympia runner-up three times:
Kai Greene. Come on the train with me dude.
Although this is not evident in the video editing, it appears that sufficient breaks are taken between exercises. During one of his breaks, Fraser expressed his disdain for sleeping and bathing because he considered them “a waste of time”.

After the noon and bass session finished, Fraser and his crew grabbed some breakfast of broccoli and bacon for refueling. We’ll see if training like a bodybuilder becomes a regular routine for Fraser and how much mass he decides to pack.
