Live Active EP Encourages the Community to Remain Healthy During the Holidays

Live Active El Paso encourages the community to stay healthy and active during the holiday season by participating in many free health and wellness activities and classes throughout the city.

The month of December is filled with a variety of health and wellness series covering various topics of mental health and general wellness such as overcoming the holiday blues, visualizing the new year and the holiday financial wellness series.

“The holiday season, especially during a pandemic, can be a challenging time to stay active and maintain healthy habits,” said Strategic Initiatives Coordinator Diana Cepeda. “The Live Active El Paso initiative provides free health activities and workshops from our health partners that help cope with stress that can come from holidays. We encourage the community to take advantage of these free sessions offered at various city facilities in December.”

Kids are encouraged to stay active during the winter holidays, too. One option is El Paso Parks and Recreation’s Sport and Fitness camp for children ages 10 to 14, created in partnership with Empowerment Health and Wellness. The week-long free camp will focus on different sports skills, conditioning and nutrition lessons with snacks.

All programs are held on different dates and in different parts of the city. Registration is not required to attend any of the free, family-friendly programs. A calendar of events and locations can be found at
