Humboldt High School shooting – One dead and another hurt in horror gym shooting during basketball game in Tennessee

The shooter remains at large after an altercation at a high school basketball game in Humboldt, Tennessee, killing one person and injuring another.

The shooting reportedly occurred in the lobby of Humboldt High School’s auditorium. Students gathered at the school to play a game against Northside High School.

The names of the two people who were shot have not been released by law enforcement authorities.

The medical staff and police were present at the scene of the accident, as the injured person was airlifted to Memphis Hospital for treatment.

Local reports said the shooting resulted from an argument between two adults. No students participated and no students were injured, the school district says.

The authorities are still working to arrest the suspect.

According to a statement from the Humboldt City School System, high school Wednesday classes and all other school-related activities on that day have been cancelled.

“An investigation by local authorities and additional information regarding the impending accident.” Read the statement.
